You don’t have to be a great writer because you can HIRE a great writer but you must be committed to ending up with a well-written book. It’s always useful to spend time at bookstores.

Make sure you check out the bestselling books in your genre and find one that has a format that really appeals to you to use a template BEFORE you start outlining your book.

Brian and I attended at the invitation of Peggy Mc Coll and it was a great opportunity to network for new affiliate partners for www.SpiritualCinemaCircle.com and www.EarthCinemaCircle.com

I found several big, new lists to trade and play with, sometimes in the most unlikely places. Twice it happened when I was swimming in the ocean and stopped to talk with someone who was also swimming! (It was a good reminder that when your intentions are clear the Universe delivers in the most unusual ways.)

It seemed like all 2,000 passengers on-board the Eurodam had either written a book, were in the process of writing a book, or at the very least were planning to write a book. Thus, the conversations were 24/7 books.

I had an opportunity to practice my “elevator pitch” for The Soulmate Secret dozens of times. It was great to share my excitement for the book with such a receptive group. As you may know, the book is based on my product at www.soulmatekit.com. I met 3 people on the cruise who had bought The Soulmate Kit and are now engaged!!! Several owners of www.everythingyoushouldknow.com were on the cruise and shared with me that they now have published books.

Peggy McColl (Reigning Queen of internet book marketing www.destinies.com) shared, during her talk, some amazing success stories of self-published authors who not only got their books to the top of the internet bestsellers lists but also found agents AND publishers and one even got a seven-figure deal!!! (a first-time novelist) She also had statistics on the fact that over 200 million Americans are on the internet and shared numbers about the gazillions of websites that exist. It was all very inspiring and an excellent reminder that there is still unlimited potential to grow a platform via internet marketing.

The week was also a juicy reminder about the power of positive thinking, right action and clear intentions….in spite of some seriously bad economic news, this crowd was fired up and planning to have a prosperous 2009. Seeing so many focused people living their life with purpose and a sense of mission was a lot of fun. For the authors onboard who were hoping to connect with well-known experts to ask them for blurbs, I witnessed many of them asking and receiving blurbs. The lesson here is clear. Writing may be a solitary practice but the marketing part is really enlivened when you are with other people.

In the book I share the story of how ten of my friends used the Law of Attraction to manifest their soulmates. I realized that these powerful, true stories will serve as great inspiration on the soulmatesecret.com website. (which is under construction). So, I spent the day writing mini versions of these stories and emailing my contributors asking them to send me their wedding photos to include on the site with the stories.

Now, not only do I have extra, juicy content for the website, it will also provide ideas and hooks for media types visiting the site AND…I can promote my contributors by linking to their websites. A triple win. I just love triple wins.

Each day I am meeting (or remembering) at least one person in my life who can participate in the launch of the book in some way.  For instance, by being a part of twitter.com I have met five new people who are now part of my email blast list of 108.

On Saturday I went through my rolodex to see if I could find any names from the past that would spark something.  I found an old PR friend who has now volunteered to use his resources and connections with the Rachel Ray show.  Fingers are crossed!

I have also created my ‘media wish list’ and sent it to my Harper One publicist, Suzanne Wickham.  I asked her to pitch everyone on the list and to join with me in consciousness in seeing it all happened. She readily agreed!

Last week on the www.everytingyoushouldknow.com monthly Teleclass I interviewed Mark Tauber, head of Harper One. One of the many things we discussed was which TV shows are really moving books these days. I was surprised to learn that Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart were among the top on the list (after Oprah and the morning shows of course).  If you missed the call, you can listen to it here:

Do you remember August 9, 1998? That was the day my beautiful summer wedding came about because I had used everything I’d ever learned about manifestation and applied it to my love life. My intentions had became crystal clear while I simultaneously cleared out the clutter in my house AND in my heart.
